Fundraising quiz night success!

St George’s has raised £540 at our quiz night at Jean’s Kitchen on Thursday 22nd June.

56 people attended the evening, which featured a quiz, dinner, a game of heads or tails and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

Jon Traquair, whose team scooped top place in the quiz, said: “Team MacMan had a great time – we’re very pleased to have won. We always like to support St George’s because it’s a brilliant charity.”

All the money raised will go to provide free and low cost childcare places to local families in need. St George’s is the only nursery in Tunbridge Wells to provide this vital service. It offers a lifeline to families in crisis due to domestic violence, illness or financial hardship.

Ellie Stewart, Fundraising and Development Manager at St George’s said: “We’ll be able to provide at least 33 fully funded childcare sessions thanks to these donations. It means that while their children are safe in our care, parents have the time and space they need to get back on their feet.

“We’re so grateful for everyone’s generosity. The money we’ve raised tonight will make such a difference to vulnerable children and families in the local community.”
