Ages and stages

St George’s nursery children are split into 4 age groups and rooms:

Squirrels (3 months-2 years)

Hedgehogs (1.5-2.5 years)

Moles (2-3 years)

Badgers and Otters  (3-5 years)

All children are unique; therefore we don’t necessarily move them to the next age group on their birthday. Some children are ready to move earlier, while others take longer to settle into the idea of moving. Your child will be settled into the appropriate room and our staff team will ensure that they are safe, happy and their day is full of fun activities to promote learning through play.

We only move a child when they have had a chance to settle and they are ready, and when we have the sessions free.  If a child cannot move their key person will carry on and ensure age-appropriate activities are available. As we charge by age you will see a change to your invoice from your child’s birthday.
