Fees and sessions

Nursery
September 2017/2018

St George’s nursery is a wonderful place for children from 6 months-5 years to play, learn and make new friends in a safe and fun-filled environment.

Sessions: 7.30am-1.00pm and 1.00pm-6.30pm
51 weeks per year (no charges for Bank Holidays)

Squirrels (6 months-2 years) – £31.50 per session or £63 per day
Moles (2-3 years) – £31.50 per session or £63 per day
Badgers (3-5 years) – £29.50 per session or £59 per day

Morning sessions include: breakfast, morning snack and 2-course lunch.
Afternoon sessions include 2-course lunch, afternoon snack and 2-course tea.

St George’s can only claim for 5 hours Free Early Education Funding per session for 3 and 4 years old in the term after their 3rd birthday, therefore there is a charge of £8.20 per session for the extra half an hour in the nursery.

Subsidised places

St George’s has provided affordable childcare within our local community for more than 30 years. We are able to offer subsidised places to families in financial difficulty to give their children the best possible start in life. All subsidised places are made possible through our programme of charity fundraising; no contribution is taken from families who pay full fees. Please contact the office to find out more.

If you or someone you know is in need of support, please contact us at childcaremanager@stgeorgeschildcare.co.uk to find out more about eligibility.

Deposit

A deposit of £100 will hold your child’s place in the nursery before their start day. Once their placement has been confirmed and the deposit paid, any cancellation with less than four weeks’ notice will result in a forfeit of the deposit. If your child does join us, then your deposit will be deducted from the required notice period of four weeks when they leave.

How to pay

  • Debit cards can be used with no transaction charges, either at our reception or over the phone.
  • For credit cards/business cards we add a 3% transaction charge. We do not accept American Express.
  • Cheques should be made payable to St George’s CCP.
  • Standing order forms are available from reception.
  • We accept all brands of vouchers issued under the salary sacrifice scheme.

All fees, inclusive of food, are revised annually at the beginning of June and implemented at the beginning of September. Parents paying subsidised fees will be asked to verify their current circumstances and eligibility at regular intervals.

Cancellation of a place

Once you have confirmed and accepted a place for your child and they are attending, one month’s written notice is required to cancel their place or to decrease sessions. Failure to give one month’s notice will result in fees being charged, regardless of attendance. If a booking is cancelled prior to the start date without the required notice period, then the fee will also be forfeited.

Charge for late collections

Any child still in our care after the standard session ends will be booked as a ‘late collection’ and will incur an extra charge of £20. We have a specific cut-off time and if children are still on site after that time, staff schedules are disrupted and our insurance can be invalidated.

Free early education (FEE)

The local authorities provide Free Early Education to assist with nursery or playgroup fees for children who will be three years old at the start of the next term. The FEE is available during term-time only and for fifteen or thirty hours per week. Depending on the session fees and the opening times of the Nursery, it will be deducted from the child’s fees and the remaining balance itemised for payment by the parents or carers.

15 and 30 Hours Free Childcare

Our pattern of delivery is 38 weeks for Little dragons and 51 weeks for Badgers and depends on space availability. FEE is only available for 38 weeks of the year. St George’s can only claim for 5 hours FEE per session for 3 and 4 years old in the term after their 3rd birthday, therefore there is a charge of £8.20 per session for the extra half an hour in the nursery.

Please note, for our Little Dragons playgroup, the  will cover up to five 3-hour sessions per week for 38 full weeks of the year. As Little Dragons is usually only open for up to 38 weeks per year, occasionally there may be a day that is not supported by FEE.

If a child is attending more than one nursery or playgroup, from September the FEE for up to 30 hours will be divided between the providers. If children are attending a nursery attached to a school, the school will claim the funding. Attendance registers are kept and show each child’s attendance record, the time they arrive and the time they leave each session.

Little Dragons
September 2017/2018

St George’s Little Dragons playgroup is for children aged 2½-5 years and offers parents and carers a great alternative to full nursery care.

Sessions: term time only for 38 weeks of the year.

Mornings – 9am-12pm
Afternoons – 12pm-3pm
Full day – 9am-3pm

Under 3s – £18.50 per session or £37 per day
Over 3s – £16.50 per session or £33 per day

A snack is provided at Little Dragons, but you will need to provide a packed lunch for afternoon and full day sessions.

After-school Club
September 2017/2018

Our After-school Club runs during term time, picking up children from St John’s, Claremont, St James, St Augustine and St Peter’s Primary schools.

Fee includes collection from school and After-school Club until 6.30pm – £19.50

A deposit of £50.00 is required to hold your child’s place in the After-school Club prior to their start day. Once their place has been confirmed and a deposit paid, any cancellation with less than four weeks’ notice will result in a forfeit of the deposit. When your child leaves St George’s, your deposit will be deducted from your final fees, providing 4 weeks’ notice has been given.

Absence

If your child is not coming to our After-school Club as arranged, please telephone St George’s by 2.30pm. This is very important, because if a child is not waiting at their school to be picked up, we will have to conduct a search to determine where they are. This is not only worrying for the staff who are responsible for their safety, but also delays the minibus pick up, affecting all other children attending our After-school Club. All absences must be paid for and if you do not let us know that your child doesn’t need collecting, there will be an additional penalty charge of £10.

Collection of children from After-school Club

At our After-school Club, children must be collected no later than 6.30pm. If your child is still in our care after this time, a £20 penalty will be charged for every quarter of an hour (or part thereof) that you are late. When children are picked up late, staff schedules are disrupted and our insurance can be invalidated, so even if it is by just a few minutes, you will still be charged.

Holiday Club
September 2017/2018

With so much for children to do, our Holiday Clubs are really popular. Bookings are being taken for our summer Holiday Club now, but please speak to one of our Childcare Managers to check availability. Please note, we work on a first come, first served basis and can only reserve places when payment has been made.

Sessions for Holiday Club (reception year – Year 7)

Full Day 7.30am-6.30pm – £38
Morning 7.30am-1pm – £20
Afternoon 1pm-6.30pm – £20

External trips may require an extra payment if entrance fees are involved.

Breakfast is provided from 7.30am-8.30am. A snack is provided morning and afternoon and a home-cooked meal is provided at teatime.

Please provide a packed lunch (no glass bottles or nuts please). This enables us to go off-site in the minibus and not be tied to set lunch times. Please also ensure that your child has appropriate clothing for both indoor and outdoor activities.

All fees are revised annually at the beginning of June and implemented at the beginning of September. Parents paying subsidised fees will be asked to verify their current circumstances and eligibility at regular intervals.

Cancellation of a place

Payment must accompany booking forms for each Holiday Club and cancellations are not refundable.
