Fundraising fun at St George’s summer fair

St George's Summer Fair 2017

On Friday 21 st July we held our annual summer fair which raised £1750 for St George’s. We were delighted to welcome Mayor Julia Soyke to St George’s to enjoy the day with us.

The fair took place in St George’s garden on Chilston Road from 3 – 6:30pm. Guests included parents, St George’s staff and members of the local community. They enjoyed a BBQ, Pimm’s , cakes, a tombola and face painting, and lots of fun stalls and games. The children were entertained by Kazzamataz’s dynamic show, and a singalong with Eli Palfreyman. At the end of the day, the winners of the raffle and children’s gift bag competition were announced by St George’s Chairman Cen ydd Milne.

Cen ydd Milne said: “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the fair by buying raffle tickets, donating prizes and joining us on the day. The money we’ve raised will make a real difference to all of the children we care for at St George’s.”

Mayor Julia Soyke said: “I loved the super-happy atmosphere at the fair, and was delighted to hear that Ofsted ‘outstanding’ rated St George ’ s is able to offer places to children from all backgrounds, even the most vulnerable and hard-up. This includes victims of domestic abuse, such as those being helped by my chosen charity DAVSS.”

KCC Councillor James McInroy, Member for Tunbridge Wells West said: “It was great to see so many happy children and adults supporting St George’s on a sunny afternoon. I am pleased the fete was successful in raising funds that are much needed to provide subsidised childcare places and transform the outside play areas.”
